Daehan Nupharm has officially been recognized for its ESG management capabilities, particularly in the environmental (E) domain, by achieving a final grade of “A-” in the 2025 ESG Diagnosis and Inspection organized by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
The ESG Diagnosis and Inspection was conducted over several months from the second half of 2025 through the end of the year. Ecosian ESG Consulting and the Korea Management Registrar (KMR) participated as implementing organizations, enhancing the professionalism and objectivity of the evaluation. The assessment adopted a more advanced method that included on-site verification of greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) and actual energy usage conditions, going beyond mere document review.
The evaluation comprehensively considered factors such as the environmental management system, standards and operating levels for greenhouse gas and energy management, processes for estimating and managing energy use, accuracy and traceability of environmental data, and medium- to long-term reduction targets and improvement plans. The company was recognized for securing the adequacy of its management system and the reliability of its data across all categories.
In particular, the newly completed GMP-grade production facility was positively evaluated as the company reorganized its production infrastructure and energy management system, establishing an operational foundation that takes environmental efficiency into account. This achievement is significant as it not only expands production capacity but also lays the foundation for systematically advancing greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency improvement initiatives.
Additionally, the renewal of the company’s website strengthened ESG and sustainability management content and broadened its communication base with stakeholders. Thed website clearly conveys the company’s sustainable management vision by reflecting its environmental management principles, greenhouse gas and energy management policies, and ESG promotion direction.
The implementing organizations assessed that the company had built a stable environmental data management system and established an operational basis to systematically expand reduction activities in connection with the new plant operation. This outcome reflects the company’s continuous efforts to internalize ESG practices within its overall management strategy, rather than merely responding to external evaluations.
Based on the results of this evaluation, the company plans to further advance its environmental management system, organically link new plant operations, ESG content enhancement, and data-based management systems, and continuously strengthen the execution of sustainable management.
A company official stated, “Achieving the A- grade is the result of our efforts to put ESG management into action through field and data-based management systems, rather than stopping at declarations. We will continue to promote greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency improvements, enhance the transparency of ESG disclosures, and strengthen our long-term corporate value and commitment to social responsibility.” |
